THE ELEPHANT PROJECT

What is The Elephant Project?
The Elephant Project is an organization to raise money and awareness for the Alzheimer's Association. The elephant is the symbol of the project because there is a phrase that says, "elephants never forget," and in the fight against Alzheimer's disease, we are striving for those afflicted with it to "never forget."
To raise money, and awareness, we have celebrities pose for a picture with an elephant beanie baby, which are then auctioned off in an Elephant Project auction package! Each package consists of an 8x10 photo of a celebrity posing with the elephant, a signed Elephant Project card by that celebrity, and a special elephant beanie baby! Some of the celebrities that have participated include Gerard Butler, Lady Gaga, Zac Efron, Julie Andrews, Anne Hathaway, Adam Sandler, Jennifer Garner, Ashley Tisdale and tons of others!

My Story
My name is David Niederhoffer and I am 20 years old. Currently, I am a student at the NYU Stern School of Business majoring in Marketing and minoring in Entertainment, Media and Technology as well as Producing! In the future, I hope to be a successful film producer and use my business skills to launch my own production company.
I started the Elephant Project after I raised money for two years to benefit Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS by selling the autographs I obtained from celebrities (which included signed pictures, Broadway playbills, scripts, etc.).
On May 29, 2006, my grandfather died after battling Alzheimer's disease for the past few years. My family asked for all people who wished to donate money in his name to donate to the Alzheimer's Association. I decided that I would continue to raise money once again, but to donate all proceeds to the Alzheimer's Association.
